brick

the best movie of the year. so far.

although, its going to take a hell of a fantastic film to beat it. story, setting, characters, writing and feel were all dead on for the best noir detective story you'll ever see. especially, set in a high school.

i can only hope rian johnson can keep this up for his next outing. best if its a different genre entirely.

we will be having a viewing party as soon as geshin or i buy it. you are all invited.

job

so i have this new part time office job that i think i talked about before. well i figured since i was going to be sitting at a computer for several hours several times a week, i would be able to post more regularly to this blog. unfortunately, things have not worked out as i wished.

taking over this position has taken more time and effort than i figured it would. also, it has made it harder for me to think about updating, as i have been so caught up in all of the minutia. brain not focused as well as i would like.

hopefully as i bring things under control, i will find myself with more time and more inclination to post regularly, either from work or from home.

until then, i apologize for the irregularity.

Tribute

Thank you for the notice.

My friend who was killed was Robert Barton "Bart" Mann. A motorcycle enthusiast (and salesman), a musician (in his own rock band), a homeopathic doctor, a student of Japanese Calligraphy, a practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism and a Sifu of Wing Chun Kung Fu. A great story teller, a good man.

He was cremated yesterday in Denver, with services and interment this afternoon.

He will be missed.

No, Geshin, I saw your post when you made it. I just never got to replying until I did. Or maybe I was just ignoring you...

Well, I finally have my office at work all to myself. The other guy who I was taking over for has moved out. Of course, we haven't finished going through everything yet, but hopefully that will happen soon.

Anyway, here is something for today. I hope it wasn't too boring for you.

new start?

well, as usual i am extremely inconsistant in posting. someone even had the unmitigated gall to tell me my blog was getting boring.

to which i have only one response...

getting?
holy shit dude, this thing has never been anything but boring. hell, i go to sleep trying to read through it. you need to get a life. and take some responsibility for your actions. like, signing your name on posts.

coward.

so on to other exciting news.

a friend of mine was killed in a motorcycle accident last wednesday. one of those guys noone ever says anything bad about. i hope he is happy in the next life. whatever that may be.

well, back to the grind.

MIA

so, ummm, hi.

its been a while. sorry. not that anyone was checking but it has.

i dont really have a good excuse. i mean yes, i reinjured my back. and yes sitting at the computer for long periods of time hurts. yes, i did get a new part time gig that requires me to keep office hours and that is going to require nuking said office to get it clear enough to start over in. but thats really no excuse.

well, i cant really sit here for long. i will tell you more about the new job tomorrow. hopefully. unless i forget again.
